In this project, students help educate maintenance staff about different things they can do to save energy on campus. Student trainers develop a short curriculum which teaches about the benefits of being energy efficient. Staff is provided with a practical list of things they can do immediately to start saving energy on campus. Staff is provided with a more general overview, explaining the benefits of energy efficiency as it relates to them, their families, their country, everyone and every living thing.
A "peso harvest" can be conducted whereby unused pesos are collected at home and put into a fund. This fund can then be the source of an honorarium given to staff members that complete the training along with a certificate of completion. As curriculum is expanded, more detailed trainings can be offered to staff. As more funds might be needed, creative sources of funding the honorariums will be of importance.
We need people with leadership skills to mobilize fund-raisers.
We need people willing to learn as well as teach. |
